Remembering the Fallen

This is an image from Cute as a Button and its called fallen soldier. You can find the shop and the image by clicking on the links above. I started out by painting the image. I used the Stitched Rectangle Die Set to cut the image, red and white cardstock. The Blue cardstock is 4 1/4 " x 5 1/2" The card is a tan card stock and it's 5" x  7". I added some embellishments I purchased from the local craft store.

Hi and Welcome To  another  Outlawz.ning.com  Monday Greetings Challenge. I am proud to be a Guest Designer for the month of May. This week the theme is "Anything Goes." Our Sponsor for the challenge is Cre8tive Hands and Crafty Sentiments. I bought a Die Set from Gina Marie Design Dies awhile back and haven't had time to play with it. I decided since this was an Any Goes Challenge I would give it a try. It is her Window Die Set and its Lovely. It comes with two planters, two shutters and four different things to use as Hinges, or whatever you come up with. Here is the card.

and

I started out by cutting out the window opening. I ran the white cardstock through a brick wall embossing folder. Then I used TH Distress Ink to pain the Bricks. I used Walnut, Rusty Hinge and Pumice. Once that was dry I adhered the window frame to the brick. I used Ellen Hutson Spring Flower Die Sets to make the Lily's of the Valley's and Tulip's. Before I glued them on I used a piece of foam tape across the bottom of the window frame so it popped out. Then I laid the flowers across the foam Tape. The flower box is glued on top of the flowers.

Now it was time to color the image. I used Prisma Colored Pencils and adhered it to my A2 Card front. I taped two pieces of foam together and glued it down so the wall had dimension and depth from the image. I should've used a bigger card base so I could've put shutters on, but I didn't relize it until I was almost done. I guess I will have to make another one. I was looking at it and the one shutters could be used as a trellis I think??? Something for me to try... :) Stay tuned for future projects with this Die set.

Happy Birthday Big Boy

Hi and Welcome To  another  Outlawz.ning.com  Monday Greetings Challenge. I am proud to be a Guest Designer for the month of May. This week the theme is "Use Circles In your Design" and your card has to have a greeting on it. Our Sponsor for the challenge is Alicia Bel Digi's. Isn't that perfect. I love the images from both of  Artist! I had a lot of fun with this one.  I made a birthday Card for a man. I rarely do this because the men in  my life don't seem to appreciate what I put into it and if you buy one they always say "you should've saved the money." Anyway, I hope you get a kick out of the card!

I used the Digi called Christina in Tights. I colored her in with Prisma Colored Pencils and then cut her out with the Scalloped Oval Die Set from Gina Marie Design. Then I stamped the sentiment onto three circles that I cut out using the Stitched Circle Die Set also from Gina.
I Made a black card base 5" x 6" and then adhered a piece of white cardstock cut to 5 1/2" x 4 1/2". On top of that I adhered a piece of red cardstock cut to 4 1/4" x 5". I centered the image and adhered it to the card front. I included a camera and three red Jems to dress up the card a little bit. The final touch is Stickles in the twinkle of her eyes.
The cards Playful and fun and that's what I was looking for. I hope you enjoyed it! Have a blessed week!

  • I used Vintage photo on the doily and other pieces to give them an aged look after I used a edge distress tool.
  • The newspaper cardstock is 6 1/2" x 4 1/2".
  • The brown card stock is 6 3/4" x 4 3/4".
  • The card is made from black cardstock and it is 5" x 7".
  • I wrapped twine around the image and knotted the three pieces together. The Pearls were added to each of the corners to dress up the image.

Time to Feed the Garden...

Hello Everyone, I hope that things are going Great! I love this time of year so much. It smells fresh and the birds are singing so sweetly in the mornings. It's exciting to get outside and start planning my garden. I have a perennial flower garden that I like to add new plants to each year. I found myself thinking about all of this and nearly forgot to fertilize the garden. That's what was my inspiration for today's card. It's time to feed the Garden....

I used a New Release Image from Cute As A Button. I'm calling her Venus. She was fun to paint because she has so many shadows and highlights. I gave the Venus Fly Trap red lipstick to match hers. I cute the image and matted it onto dark green cardstock. The card is 6 x 6. I used a strip of thought bubbles because of the way they used them in the show batman when I was growing up. I can't wait to see what you can do with her! I thought about going all Rocky Horror Picture Show with it, maybe next time!

Have a great week everyone! Hugz

Happy Mother's Day....Love Button's

Hi Everyone!! How Are You today? It has been so much fun watching my perennials come up and get ready to start blooming. I can't wait to start planting. We have to wait until around Mother's Day before we can start planting because we still have frost at night and the chance of snow. I have been busy planning what I want to add to the flower beds this year. I add a few new perennials every year. The garden is so pretty mid summer with everything blooming and it brings in the butterflies, too!

I have a card I made for some inspiration. I used the "Buttons" image from Cute As A Button. She is just adorable with her wavy hair and big bow. The Cute As A Button May Inspiration image I used worked perfect for a Mother's Day Card. Here is my Card.

I used Prisma Color Pencils to color the image. I added Stickles to the center of the flowers some of the button's and the trim on her pants.
I used a button's embossing folder on cream cardstock and used Stickles on the center of the button holes.
I added random button's across the edge of the embossing piece for a more finished look. Then I tied a knot through the button holes of the flower shaped button and adhered it to the center of the bag.
The Sentiment is a clear stamp from my stash supplies. The finished card is a 5" x 7".
I hope you have enjoyed my card and it has inspired you to create something awesome! Hugz
